RED

Sundays are for resting, and sourcing inspiration to keep my wheels turning. I hope you enjoy this collage I made. It embodies my favorite color at the moment, in some form or another.

My Desk ft. Ankit Accessories

When it comes to my room, I like to keep things extremely minimalistic and clean. If you couldn’t tell already, I love when everything is white. From my blankets to all my furniture, it instantly makes my room feel brighter. I am always changing up my space and playing around with how I display my accessories. Some of my favorite items in my room at the moment are my ‘vacation fund mason jar’ from Ankit, and of course my cacti plants!

Join the Dance

“The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.” Thank you Alan Watts for inspiring my mind. I am at a point in my life where I can either go left or right, the decision is entirely mine. It is exciting and frightening all in one. It becomes too easy to remain stagnant and do what everyone else is doing. Is comfort really all that pleasing? I need thrill, movement, and change to electrify my life. Wherever I end up, at least I took the plunge.

Your Happiness

I think more than ever, I have been questioning the true meaning of happiness. In our world, people associate happiness with “things”. The problem with seeking joy from animate objects is that it never lasts. I am the happiest when I am in the present moment, not worrying about the future. I am the happiest when the people around me are happy and healthy. I am the happiest when I am inspired.

The Iconic: David Sims

David Sims is the modern day muse of the fashion industry. He gained recognition in the ’90s while shooting for magazines such as i-D and The Face. Initially known for his stark modernism, his work has evolved over the years to capture emotion and movement. American Vogue proclaimed Sims was “setting a new standard for fashion photography,” which he continues to do today as he shoots the biggest names in the business.

Stay Dreaming

Lately I have been so hooked on scrolling through Tumblr. I think it is a beautiful outlet for self expression. There is just something about it that feels safe, where you can freely express your thoughts and feelings free of negativity…

Artist: Egon Schiele

Egon Schiele will always be my favorite artist. I fell in love with his ability to create confrontational portraits with his signature nervous and loose line work. This signature graphic style welcomes distorted figures and defies conventional norms of beauty, which is one of the many reasons he is my favorite artist. Personally, I find the average standards of beauty to be very boring. I love any artist or designer who goes beyond these contrived norms and makes the viewer feel something new, even if it is initial discomfort. To me, that is intriguing. As a leader of expressionism, his imagery is deeply psychological. There is much more that meets the eye.

Interior: Texture

This past weekend I went to North Carolina to go to High Point Market, the largest home furnishing trade show in the world! It was a great experience browsing a number of showrooms and seeing how each of their styles vary. More importantly, it really made me begin to think about how I want to decorate my apartment when I move to New York next year. For one, texture is so important. I love anything rustic and woodsy. I noticed I gravitated towards pieces that weren’t too polished and had a more ‘lived in’ feel. The inspiration images I pulled above reflect my ideal space which combines various textures from faux fur throws to wooden tables that look as though they came straight from my backyard.

Hair Trend: Pastel Locks

My favorite hair trend of the moment: pastel hair. If my hair was naturally blonde, I would try it with no hesitation. Instead of going through all that hassle of bleaching my hair, I’ll just keep dreaming.
