Farfetch, a global fashion community with over 300 fashion boutiques is changing the way we shop. Each boutique within the community is carefully selected to attribute to the luxury retailers forward-thinking approach. The perks of shopping from a site with over 1,000 labels? Diversity. Farfetch aims to support independent fashion, offering the consumer cultural diversity and a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. CEO José Neves defines his business as a “curated centralized and global marketplace.” This strategy empowers local designers and gives consumers the opportunity to shop new talent. No wonder all of the fashion-forward shoppers are flocking to Farfetch.
When I found out that Farfetch launched a new-and-improved Farfetch Discover app for iPhone and iPad I couldn’t wait to try it out. As a shopper constantly on the go, I am always looking for easier ways to shop from my smartphone. Prior to the release of Farfetch Discover, I (ironically) found myself agitated with the usual online shopping experience. My main complaint: I really do not feel like scrolling through 5,000 shirts. Instead, I would rather have content curated for me! Well kids, the fashion Gods answered my prayers and along came Farfetch Discover.
Farfetch Discover creates a dynamic shopping experience that is visually appealing to the eye. Upon opening the app, you are greeted with organized categories to shop. The most recent categories featured on the app are: new in today, the NYE party edit, SS16 pre-collections, luxe loungewear, winter getaway, and sunshine escape. Basically, it is a shoppers dream come true. Since I am currently in the middle of planning my sunshine escape, I clicked ‘shop all’ and began my search for the perfect vacation essentials. The content within each category is arranged by outfit, which makes shopping very simple. Finally I don’t have to do all the work and plan each outfit in my head! Farfetch couples products I wouldn’t have imaged together, opening my eyes to new styling options.
Another great feature is that you are able to ‘star’ items before clicking them. This improved wishlist function allows you to save your favorites for later. This is fabulous if you are in a slight hurry and want to scale down your options from your wishlist before adding them to your shopping bag, which is what I normally do to avoid my shopping bag equating to $50,000. Before the battle of the buy begins, I enlarge each item to view the details. Farfetch has done an incredible job of providing plenty of detail shots for each product. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ordered an item and it looks nothing like it appeared online. I do not see this being an issue with Farfetch. The clothes are displayed so well that I can even see the stitching! Under each product there is a description, size guide, composition and care, and the shipping policy. You are also able to view more from the selected designer, which instantly takes you to more products.
If you’re a shopper on the hunt for the latest undiscovered talent, Farfetch gives you the option to shop by boutiques. After selecting a boutique that sparks your curiosity, it takes you to a brief description of the boutique before you can ‘shop all’ from that boutique. Personally, I love getting to know the store that I am shopping from. This creates a connection with the pieces I wear. If I am more educated on where the clothing comes from, I am more likely to make a purchase. Easy as that.
Overall, I am blown away by the seamless shopping experience from the Farfetch Discover app. This advancement in luxury shopping acknowledges its smart online shoppers and gives us exactly what we have been longing for. Want to be a part of the revelation? Download the Farfetch Discover app and comment below what you think of it! Farfetch will be giving one lucky reader £400 to spend on the app, so make sure you enter the ‘a Rafflecopter giveaway‘ and follow the instructions for your chance to win. Hope you enjoyed the looks I put together from the app and I am looking forward to hearing what you all think of Farfetch Discover! Good luck!
